Dwan cuts deficit in Durrrr Challenge

Dwan cuts deficit in Durrrr Challenge

Friday, 17 December 2010

Tom 'Durrrr' Dwan and Daniel 'Jungleman12' Cates had a busy day yesterday racking up 1,214 hands during a quick but extremely swingy two-hour session.

At the close of play Durrrr had managed to book a $63k win, huge for most mere mortals but only a small dent in his deficit in this current challenge. It could have been even better for Dwan who at one stage got within $200k of his rival before Cates again stretched his lead.

Durrrr also reported technical difficulties which caused him to lose a pot of almost $35k. Dwan tweeted “Just had one of the most tilting hands of my life happen. Was playing JungleMan in the challenge and my internet cut out, so I checked behind the nuts in a spot where he would’ve 100% called with 2 pair for $34,683 more. So tilted.”

With 14,190 hands of the Challenge completed, Durrrr's deficit now stands at around $500k, a marked improvement on his low point of minus $800k. We'll be hoping for more high stakes action at Full Tilt Poker over the weekend.
