Dutch Boyd’s literary launch

Dutch Boyd’s literary launch

Tuesday, 19 March 2013

Seven years ago, Dutch Boyd had the poker world at his feet. He’d just claimed a WSOP bracelet, scooped a large chunk of change and looked set for a lengthy spell amongst poker’s elite.

How times have changed. After suffering at the hand of negative variance, coupled with a series of failed business venture – including PokerSpot – Dutch has been forced to re-enter the real world with a very large bump.

After being rejected for a minimum wage job and selling a WSOP bracelet last year the former Doyle Brunson Classic winner is hoping that publishing will provide a change in fortune.

Boyd has partnered with author Laurence Samuels to publish a new book that in his words, “uniquely combines tell-all and strategy”. The skint former pro has struggled to get the funds to publish ‘Poker Tilt’ and has turned to Kickstarter.com to get a financial leg up.
