Dusty “leatherass” Schmidt joins DragTheBar

Dusty “leatherass” Schmidt joins DragTheBar
Monday, 18 January 2010

Dusty “leatherass” Schmidt, the consummate grinder who kicks lumps out of high-stakes games on Full Tilt and PokerStars yes the hardest games on the Internet – despite mass-multi-tabling, has left his position as lead instructor of StoxPoker in order to assume that role at fledgling video training site DragTheBar.

"Dusty is one of the top mid-to-high-stakes players in the world, period," said DragTheBar.com CEO Hunter Bick. "He's played so many hands at such a high win rate that his depth is simply unmatched. But as good a player as he is, he's an even better instructor. It's unusual to find someone who can do both. We don't want our site to just have good poker players as coaches -- they must be well spoken and great teachers too. Dusty embodies those qualities better than anyone."

Schmidt had been instructing at StoxPoker for three years and has made the best part of 100 videos – all of which can still be viewed there.
“I’m really stoked to be coming on as an instructor, writing blogs, making videos, contributing to forums and just participating in such a great community in general. I really feel like my best poker instruction is ahead of me, and I can’t wait to put that content on DragTheBar.com,” said the man himself between playing thousands of hands a day for $1 per hand.

Schmidt’s new book, Treat Your Poker Like a Business, is available to buy online from dustyschmidt.com now. Keep your eyes peeled for the next issue of Bluff Europe which features an extensive review of this excellent poker manual.
