Dusk Till Dawn chief Issues Wembley call

Friday, 5 April 2013

The founder of the award-winning Nottingham cardroom Dusk Till Dawn (DTD), Rob Yong has issued a rallying call to the UK poker community to support the maiden International Stadiums Poker Tour (ISPT) event at Wembley.

DTD will be operating and managing the tournament at the home of football and perhaps most importantly, will be guaranteeing the €1m first prize.

“The most exciting thing about this tournament, apart from the financial guarantee – is that this is a unique situation,” Rob told Bluff Europe. “ISPT has booked Wembley stadium for a week for a significant amount of money and we have the opportunity to go and use that facility. This chance may never happen again in our lifetimes.”

The live event will take place on 31 May until 5 June 2013 at the iconic London stadium, with players having qualified from a series of €300 day ones, played online all over the world. Ten per cent of the field from each day one will go to Wembley with their accumulated day 1 stack to play for the big prize. A raft of online satellites at dusktilldawnpoker.com have been scheduled for the last week in April.

Yong has called on the UK poker community to unite and get behind a potentially once in a lifetime event and explained why DTD is in a position to deliver.

“You've got the industry, you've got poker players and I think our position is in between, so we have a chance to unite everyone together,” said Yong. “I would love to have, on an ongoing basis, in some form, the biggest poker event in Europe in the UK, with all the UK poker industry involved.”
