Last month we brought you news of a proposed $500k Super High Roller at the Aria. Organisers have fleshed out details about the event which looks like being one of the most exciting tournaments of 2015.

Despite the hefty half-a-million dollar buy-in, organisers are expecting a big field with an estimated prize pool of $25,000,000 and a projected first prize of $8,250,000.

So far, 31 players have signed up including Big One for One Drop winners Antonio Esfandiari and Dan Colman. In fact the start list reads like a who's who of high stakes talent and includes Tom Dwan, Daniel Cates, Doug Polk, Erik Seidel, Phil Galfond, Sorel Mizzi, Tobias Reinkemeier and Andrew Robl.

British businessman turned high-rolling poker player Paul Newey has also thrown his hat into the ring.

The Super High Roller Bowl will take place at the Aria from 2-4 July and will be preceded by a two-day Celebrity Shoot Out on 27 and 28 June and a special cash game from 30 June to 1 July.

The Celebrity Shoot Out certainly piqued the interest of Phil Hellmuth who told SuperHighRoller.com, “The poker players have to put up $100,000 to buy in, and I think the celebrities do not have to buy in and it will be a million dollar first place. I think those guys will probably play for their charities and we’ll probably play for ourselves.”

“So I think it’s just great for poker. I know that Mori Eskandani’s dream is to have one of us, I think he’d like to see me, end up playing (someone like a) Michael Jordan, and then losing. Sorry Mori, I’m gonna have to disappoint you there.”
