Durrrr Challenge Set to Resume

Durrrr Challenge Set to Resume

Saturday, 28 September 2013

It looks like the much delayed Durrrr Challenge match between Tom Dwan and Daniel 'Jungleman12' Cates could be back up and running again in the not too distant future.

Speaking at the Battle of Malta tournament, Cates told tournament sponsor PokerListings.com that he and Dwan had 'come to a new agreement'.

“I think there’s a pretty good chance we play 4,000 hands this month. I feel like I’ve said that a million times though.”

Precise details about the resumption haven't been revealed at the request of Dwan.

Cates was somewhat sympathetic as to why the match hasn't restarted sooner though, saying, “He has a lot of options. He can play in the good games in Macau against businessmen, so why would he want to play against me?”

Around 40% of the scheduled hands of the Durrrr Challenge have taken place to date with Cates $1.25m to the good. If Jungleman goes on to take the match he'll pocket whatever he wins plus $1.5m. If Dwan wins he'll take his winnings plus $500,000.

Cates will be heading to London next week as part of the team at the 3D Poker Training Clinic.
