Dunlop Leads First WSOPE 2009 Final Table

Monday, 21 September 2009

We’ve been bringing you live updates on the 2009 World Series of Poker Europe, which has kicked off with the £1,000 No-Limit Hold ‘em event at The Casino at the Empire in Leicester Square.

Over 600 players entered the first event, generating a prize pool of £608,000. This afforded a first-place prize of £136,000 which many pros were in contention for – Chris Ferguson, Roland de Wolfe and John Juanda all seemed on form, with two of the Full Tilt Pros cashing in the event.

One man who has been there every step of the way, however, is JP Kelly (pictured above) – MavFish took the chip lead with five tables left and arrives at the final table third in chips behind Richard Allen and Fabien Dunlop.

From 1pm, the final table of nine will be playing down to the Betfair World Series of Poker Europe’s first bracelet winner of 2009 – join us as we follow the action live in our WSOPE Live Report.

The chip counts for the final table are as follows:

Seat 1: Fabien Dunlop -- 538,000
Seat 2: James Tomlin -- 49,000
