Doyle Brunson defends Ultimate Bet

Thursday, 3 June 2010

Doyle Brunson’s latest blog has some good news – according to his doctor, he “should live well into his 90s” and therefore he has “a big poker year” planned for 2010. Could we see Texas Dolly capture his 11th bracelet?

Doyle also moved on to talk about UB. While endorising most of Daniel Negreanu's recent criticisms of UB, Brunson added this caveat, “they are trying to do the right thing now and keep things under control." The multiple WSOP bracelet winner added that he was confused as to how the recent security breach was allowed to occur, qualifying that with "I know some of the former owners are still in the office at UB so they have to go the extra mile with their security."

The blog received mixed reviews in the poker world – on one hand, as Rafiki the Mandrill said in The Lion King “forget about it; it’s in the past!” However, many players are concerned that some former owners are still involved with CEREUS as several company statements implied that wasn’t the case.

In any case, UB offers 33% rakeback and a host of tournaments and cash games including Bad Beat Jackpot tables – you be the judge.
