With the honourable exception of Rounders, good poker movies are pretty thin on the ground but a new independent comedy from across the pond could be worth a look.
Hitting The Nuts is a Christopher Guest style spoof centred on an illegal poker championship and according to the producers features “an outrageous group of blue-blooded American misfits who have spent a lot less time hitting than nuts in life. And a lot more time having life return the favor”.“We made a ridiculous movie on purpose,” said actor and director Joe Boyd “The poker community has been burnt by a series of unpopular, terrible movies over the last five years. I think people like this movie so much because it takes nothing seriously. It’s a complete silly farce. It’s like the movie Airplane…if Airplane was a fake documentary about poker.”Have a look below:If you like what you've seen the movie is now available on DVD from www.hittingthenuts.comKeep up to date with all the news from the poker world by following us on Twitter and Facebook.
