Day Two of EPT Prague under way

Thursday, 3 December 2009

Marc Gork is the man to catch going into Day Two of the latest EPT event in Prague. The German heads the 382 remaining players holding a stack of 169,200 chips. There are plenty of big names to keep him company at the top of the leader board though with ElkY, Irish Team PokerStars Pro Jude Ainsworth, Luca Pagano, Anthony Lallouche and Rasmus Nielsen all in the top 20.

There’s still a strong British presence left too with Thomas Macnamara leading the way in 13th. Joining him today in the top half of the field are Jonathan Weekes, Andrew Seden, John Kabbaj, Rob Akery, WSOP bracelet winner JP Kelly and recent GUKPT winner Priyan de Mel.

The high profile casualties from yesterday included Boris Becker, Dario Minieri, Johnny Lodden and Michael Tureniec. Ilari “Ziigmund” Sahamies also hit the rail early. The online cash game player from Finland arrived five hours late for the tournament and then proceeded to triple up on his very first hand to 60,000. In the next two orbits, he’d lost it all and slunk out of the room.

The whopping field means a record-breaking payout of €2,842,100 with the winner set to take home a first prize of €682,000.
