Where Day 2 rid the Aussie Millions of a plethora of big name pros, Day 3 saw Eric Seidel and Max Pescatori hold onto their hopes of winning. Mike Matusow couldn’t sustain his run and was knocked out during the session, whilst Antonio Casale, Crown casino regular, has found himself at the top of the pile.
Matusow’s tournament came to an end early in the day when he entered a race with pocket nines against Con Angelakis’ A-K and lost. They say you have to win your races to take down a title, and sadly The Mouth won’t be crowned in Melbourne.
Another pro who narrowly missed out on the cash was Jeff Lisandro after he got all in with K-9 against A-7. The board paired the ace to send Lisandro out in 82nd place.
Once the bubble burst, play accelerated again, with Full Tilt pro Peter Jepsen losing his race with pocket eights against K-J. Jepsen went out in 78th, with fellow Full Tilt member Perry Friedman going out in 77th. A trifecta of Full Tilt eliminations was completed when Eric Lindgren ran Ad-4d into Ac-Qc. No help for E-Dog, who was E-Jected from the tournament in 73rd.
Other big names such as Andy Black and Tiffany Williamson hit the tiles as the day progressed, and as the day closed 22 player remained. Chip leader is local favourite Antonio Casale (1,500,000), with Max Pescatori fourth (1,080,000). Eric Seidel is in contention as well, currently sat in seventh place with 750,000.
