Day 1a of PokerStars EPT Berlin completed

Wednesday, 3 March 2010

Day 1a of the PokerStars European Poker Tour event in Berlin, Germany, saw 388 players take to the tables until 196 remained. Day 1b begins in a couple of hours and Kfir Yamin is the man to beat as he bagged the most chips on the first flight with a mighty stack of 213,500.

Team PokerStars Pros George Danzer, Katja Thater, Benjamin Kang, Sebastian Ruthenberg and Vicky Coren all survived the day with German Pro George Danzer amassing the highest chip count of them all, winding up in 12th place with 132,400 to his name.

Luca Pagano, Boris Becker, Lex Veldhuis, Noah Boeken, and Chad Brown are expected to compete today for Day 1b, which could well be a sellout. If the Day 1b numbers match the 388-strong field of yesterday then prize pool will be a mighty €3,860,000.

PokerStars has guaranteed a first-place prize of €1,000,000 which will be beat – by a shade – the prize that Sandra Naujoks won in Dortmund in the German EPT event last year.
