Shortly after finalising a deal for The Hendon Mob with Genting Poker, Mobster Ross Boatman managed to impress his new sponsors by making a deep run and a final table finish in the £150 Genting Players’ Championship 2011, finishing in fourth place after a six-way chop at the final table.

The eventual winner, who picked up an extra £660 on top of the £6,000 that the top six finishers received, was David Wall, who beat Tim Slater heads-up to take the trophy and the glory. Making a deep run but missing out on the final table was Hit Squaddie Sunny Chattha, who busted in fourteenth place; conversely, Paul Jackson made it through to the final nine but busted in sixth place.

The final table payouts, adjusted for the six-handed deal, were as follows:

1. David Wall - £6,660
2. Tim Slater - £6,000
3. Robin Hogger - £6,000
4. Ross Boatman - £6,000
5. Lee Doran - £6,000
6. Paul Jackson - £6,000
7. Owain Carey - £2,300
8. Daniel Bardsley - £1,610
9. Chris Newton - £1,080

The event saw 293 runners – plus £10,000 added by Genting – create a prize pool of £53,800 over the two day tournament.
