David Bryan wins Manchester leg of the Sky Poker Tour

Tuesday, 10 November 2009

A field of 150 qualifiers, including former World Snooker champion Dennis Taylor, England full back Kenny Sansom, and Sky regulars Ed Giddins and Richard Orford, gathered at Manchester’s G Casino for the opening leg of the new season of the Sky Poker Tour on Saturday.

Professional snooker player Ryan Day was the big surprise of the day. The world number six joined a final table that included Sky Poker’s representative at the 2008 World Series Mike Quinlan and eventual runner up Daniel Brown. None could match David Bryan though. Bryan, who plays as David36 on Sky Poker, collected a first prize of £4,000 and a seat in next year’s Grand Final at Dusk Till Dawn.

The Sky Poker Tour now heads to Aspers Casino in Newcastle on 9th January. Once again entry is by qualification only. Satellites will be running on Sky Poker shortly.
