David Benyamine, Sam Trickett make EPT High Roller final

Friday, 20 August 2010

The $25,000 High Roller event at the Full Tilt Cyprus Poker Classic has been reduced from initial field of 36 down to a final table of nine. Tonight the remaining nine players will play down to the money bubble of five places and eventually a $392,850 first place prize.

Michael “The Grinder” Mizrachi got off to a roaring start on Day 2 of the event by eliminating Phil Ivey but was shortly found on the rail himself. Also eliminated during last night’s session were Sorel Mizzi and November Niner Nicolas Chouity.

However, one November Niner still in the field is John Dolan, who is sitting comfortably in third place on 455,500 chips. Perica Bukara is in the top spot after busting Mizrachi, holding an impressive 951,700 in chips.

Also in the hunt are UK pro Sam Trickett and French WSOP bracelet-winner David Benyamine as well as Carter Phillips and ESPN poker bigwig Andrew Feldman. Join us tomorrow to find out who claimed the High Roller title and almost $400,000 – we’re rooting for Sam.

The current chip counts are as follows, with fifth place earning $43,650 and the top three spots guaranteed six figures:

1.Perica Bukara 951,700
2.Ori Miller 546,000
3.John Dolan 455,500
4.Carter Phillips 401,600
5.David Benyamine 400,300
6.Andrew Feldman 356,000
7.Jon Turner 197,700
8.Sam Trickett 188,200
9.Ziv Caspi 103,500
