David Allan wins ANZPT Snowfest

Monday, 30 July 2012

It seems strange to be writing about an event called Snowfest in July but our antipodean cousins are in the depths of winter hence the title of the latest event of the PokerStars Australia New Zealand Poker Tour.

In the end it was David Allan who took the lion's share of the prize pool in Queenstown, New Zealand. The Aussie overcame a nasty bout of flu to claim a first prize of NZD 110,600 (£58,200), beating a final table that included PokerStars Pro Bryan Huang and Jordan Westmorland. Allan sealed victory after two hours of heads up play against Ken Demlakian, rivering a flush to beat his fellow Australian's two pair.

The final table positions and payouts were as follows:

1 David Allan NZD110,600
2 Ken Demlakian NZD70,400
3 Jordan Westmorland NZD41,200
4 Ricky Kroesen NZD34,200
5 David Zhao NZD28,200
6 Matt Wakeman NZD23,100
7 Bryan Huang NZD19,100
8 Ivan Zalac NZD15,100
9 David Evans NZD12,070
