Dave McConachie wins GUKPT Summer Series Brighton

While the GUKPT Main Tour goes on its annual hiatus the focus switches to the GUKPT Summer Series which features a similar selection of events to its bigger brother but with smaller buy-ins.

The action got under way over the weekend in Brighton with Dave McConachie taking the honours in the £500 Main Event. McConachie outlasted a healthy field of 59 runners and a final table that included our own Jeff Kimber to pocket a first prize of £10,200.

Danny Toffel won the £200 Double Chance freezeout for £2,810 with Xenofon Kalanas beating Team Sky Poker pro Wayne Rideout to the £2,100 first prize in the £150 NL Hold'em freezeout. The last person in the winners' circle was Daniel Buckley who took £625 after winning the £100 Bounty Booster.


We'll have results from the Dundee leg of the Summer Series, which also took place this weekend, later this week.


The next Summer Series events are scheduled for the G Casino in Bolton and the Grosvenor Casino in Plymouth from 9th to 12th June.
