Don’t you just hate it when you’re about to avoid the bubble in that $10 Sit n' Go, only for your internet connection to flake out? Ten bucks down the drain, a computer which has probably taken the brunt of your abuse, and stories of what might have been. Next time, spare a thought for a young Danishman who suffered the same fate for a mere $75,000 difference.
Danish Poker Champion Soren Kongsgaard can’t have been too impressed with the timing of his internet connection dying on him. Playing from his residence in Barcelona, Kongsgaard was playing BluffMagCV for the first place prize of $197,984. The Dane had to settle for second and $121,588 – a difference of $76,396.
Soren was philosophical about the whole episode, saying. “That's just the way it is, there is nothing you can do about it. But I guess the player on the other side was happy about it.” Kongsgaard may not have won of course, but he has been in a rich vein of form as of late, winning the Scandinavian Poker Open in January, third at the EPT Monte Carlo in March, and the Danish Championships in September.
