The tale of a beauty and ‘baller wouldn’t normally make many bat an eyelid but next week in Maidstone, Kent, former Miss Great Britain Danielle Lloyd and Teddy Sheringham, the oldest football player in the Premiership, will turn up at the tables.

The tale of a beauty and ‘baller wouldn’t normally make many bat an eyelid but next week in Maidstone, Kent, former Miss Great Britain Danielle Lloyd and Teddy Sheringham, the oldest football player in the Premiership, will turn up at the tables.
The duo will play at the PartyPoker.com European Open which was last year won by Ian Frazer.
Though Frazer will be present to defend his title, it is likely to be Lloyd and Sheringham that will command column inches. Earlier this month, Lloyd was stripped of her Miss Great Britain title after allegations that Sheringham – a judge in the competition – already knew her at the time of the judging. Both deny the claim, though Lloyd was barred regardless after she also broke the beauty competition's rules about using her status to pose topless in Playboy magazine.
The game takes place from December 4 to December 11 and Barry Hearn's Matchroom Sports is filming the event for the UK’s Channel 5, to be aired in the New Year.
Celebs aside, there is also a serious side to the tournament in the shape of a tasty $125,000 first place prize.
