Daniel ‘jungleman12’ Cates is 2010’s biggest online winner

Friday, 12 November 2010

With Daniel “jungleman12” Cates’s latest victory against Ilari “Ziigmund” Sahamies at $200/$400 PLO he has become the biggest online cash game winner at Full Tilt Poker for this year with over $5m earned in the high stakes NL and PLO cash games.

His latest exploits tip him barely over the five million milestone but it’s still good enough to be ahead of spots two and three – nemesis Tom “durrrr” Dwan and Phil Ivey respectively, who have earned $3.9m and $3.2m at the high stakes cash games this year. However, Ivey has put in less than half the hands jungleman12 has and less than a fifth of durrrr’s tally!

On the other end of the spectrum is Brian Townsend – according to High Stakes DB, the username ‘Brian Townsend’ has lost $2.5m while ‘sbrugby’ has lost $1.5m. Considering that they are the same person that’s not a good 2010 for former rugby players from Santa Barbara.

Gus Hansen is still clawing back his once $3m deficit for 2010 but is in the red with $1.4m lost this year. Patrik Antonius is up $600,000 for 2010 which is a fantastic effort when you consider that he was down almost four million dollars just a few months into the year.
