Daniel Negreanu destroyed in Limit Hold’em challenge

Monday, 7 May 2012

Daniel Negreanu took on German Limit Hold’em specialist “rUaBot” in a 1,250-hand $200/$400 Limit Hold’em challenge at PokerStars this weekend – it did not go well for him. Thanks largely to a bad run of cards, Negreanu lost his $75,000 bankroll in just 937 hands.

The match started fairly close but after 250 hands, the unknown German was up five figures and just 150 hands later had claimed more than half of Negreanu’s starting bankroll. Negreanu was evidently frustrated and disbelieving as river after river went the German’s way, before he lost his last pot and conceded the match.

In credit to rUaBot, he too recognised that he ran exceptionally well during the challenge:

KidPoker: gg
rUaBot: gg
rUaBot: sorry for the sick run
KidPoker: its ok just glad its over!
KidPoker: have never in my life played 2 tables HU LH and I never will again
rUaBot: big thanks for playing here
rUaBot: oh
KidPoker: good night
