The Bank Holiday no doubt had some impact on the slightly smaller than usual numbers at the Palm Beach Big Game on Monday but a total of 41 players still found the £1,000 to take part in one of London's toughest regular tournaments.

In the end it was Daniel Hardy who was top dog. The youngster went close in the same event in February, eventually finishing third behind Nicolas Irving and Hit Squadee Sunny Chattha but made no mistake this time round.

Hardy outlasted a final table that included Arjun Pasricha, Guy Bowles, Jim Kerrigan and Robert Cooper before beating Philip Patrick heads up for the £16,200 first prize.

The final table positions and payouts were as follows:

1st Daniel Hardy   £16,200
2nd Philip Patrick   £8,000
3rd Robert Cooper   £5,950
4th Jim Kerrigan   £3,900
5th Guy Bowles   £2,670
6th Arjun Pasricha   £2,050
7th Gavin Chrysanthou   £1,230
8th David Capon   £1,000
