By the close, seven of the ten entrants were still in with a shot of a half a million dollar payday with Daniel Cates leading the charge. Jungleman will return today with 317,000, well in front of South African qualifier Kinesh Pather (204,500) and Jason Mercier (175,000).

Rounding out the field are Jeff Gross, Antonio Esfandiari, who fired a second bullet after being eliminated just before the close, Philip Gruissem and Erik Seidel.

Phil Ivey won't be repeating his heroics from the Aussie Millions after busting out early in yesterday's proceedings. Max Altergott was the other player to hit the rail on day one.
