Daniel Negreanu’s charity effort over the past few days seems to have paid off, thanks in part to Dan Shak.
Having released a video earlier in the week explaining that he’s trying to raise $100,000 in seven days for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Las Vegas, Daniel has now smashed that target. Thanks to donations from all corners of the poker community, including a $25,000 pledge from Shak, the current total stands at $156,998. After discovering his initial total had been broken, Daniel immediately took to Twitter to thank everyone who donated:@RealKidPoker: “It's amazing what a community can accomplish when they are focused in on a common goal. You have changed SO MANY lives it's incredible!” Donations are still being accepted and Daniel is yet to pick four lucky people who’ve donated $2,500+ for a night of dinner and poker tuition at his Vegas home.Keep up to date with all the news from the poker world by following us on Twitter and Facebook.
