Dan Haglund wins GUKPT Walsall

Monday, 19 March 2012

Dan Haglund has taken down the latest leg of the Grosvenor UK Poker Tour yesterday evening. The Swede outlasted a 153 runner field in Walsall to pocket a first prize of £45,100.

Haglund beat a final nine that included Simon Deadman (who made the GUKPT Walsall final table last year too), Dave Clark and Martin Holmes to set up a heads up finale with local Steve Holden.

The Aston Villa fan held the chip lead for all but the final two hands of the day eventually succumbing when his pocket fours couldn't overturn Haglund's pocket nines.

The final table positions and payouts were as follows:

1st Daniel Haglund £45,100
2nd Steve Holden £31,750
3rd Martin Holmes £19,890
4th Dave Clark £12,240
5th Chris Gavriel £9,560
6th Terry Owens £7,720
7th Jonathan McCann £5,740
8th Arulmaran Sivaguru £4,210
9th Simon Deadman £3,060
