The singer for one of America’s biggest rock bands has announced that he is to host a poker tournament in Las Vegas in aid of charity.
Mötley Crüe’s Vince Neil will hold his third annual Off The Strip poker tournament at The Joint inside Las Vegas’ Hard Rock Casino on November 3 with all proceeds benefiting the Skylar Neil and TJ Martell Foundations.
The first two Off The Strip events featured poker professionals sitting down alongside adult video stars and local entertainers for a good cause with the first event raising over $170,000.
The tournament has a guaranteed $50,000 cash prize pool, which will be culled from the buy-ins and re-buys, and every player that makes it to the final table will be paid. The event will have a $500 buy-in along with a $50 fee and offers re-buys and add-ons for the first few levels of play. It is to cap at 150 players with tournament organizers expecting to easily make this number.
The event will also feature a charity auction, which will offer plenty of poker, rock and other memorabilia, hosted by 'sexy stars from the adult film world'.
Skylar Neil was Vince's daughter who died of cancer at a very young age in 1995. Since then, Neil has been dedicated to raising money and holds several charity events a year in her name to further help the cause.
The TJ Martel Foundation was formed in 1975 after the son of Tony Martel, a music industry executive, and has raised more than $215 million to support innovative research into leukaemia and cancer at eight laboratories throughout the US.
