The British poker calendar saw the welcome return of the Gala Casinos British Poker Tour this weekend, as Edinburgh opened its doors to welcome 175 players.
The event was a £500 buy in, and it eventually ended up in a three way chop between Wu, Robin Yitalo and Rory Mathews. As part of the deal, Wu took the title and the seat in the grand final in Bristol in December.
The top three agreed to take £20,500 each, while former World Snooker Champion John Higgins put in a very creditable performance, the Scotsman finishing in tenth and narrowly outside of a final table finish.
The top ten payouts were:
1. Colin Wu £20,500
2. Robin Yiltalo £20,500
3. Rory Mathews £20,500
4. Philip Scott £7,300
5. Richard Lapwood £5,100
6. Jamie Coonan £3,250
7. John Lynch £2,800
8. Mark Greenwood £2,300
9. Alistair Findlay £1,850
10. John Higgins £1,500
The next leg of the tour is at Nottingham from 16th – 20th April, with satellites running at Gala casinos around the country.
