UKIPT Dublin is set to get underway this week and ahead of the action at least one British pro has already made his way to the Emerald Isle.
The first events in the popular Irish festival are set to kick off tomorrow but it's on Thursday when the real action will begin and the likes of Jake Cody will shoot for glory. In a tweet last night the PokerStars pro announced that he was "Flying to Dublin tomorrow" and looking forward to sampling the craic with the likes of Sam Grafton and Toby Lewis who both signalled their intent to play the tournament. This year the Main Event has two starting days and to go along with the €700+€70 buy-in the organisers have slapped a €350,000 guarantee on the tournament. With enough seating for 600 players in the Main Event it's expected that it will reach its capacity relatively quickly on Thursday and Friday, so for those that miss out a slew of side events have been arranged. Indeed, with a €2,000+€200 High Roller 9single re-entry) set to take place on Saturday it's likely a number of Europe's finest players will be battling it out for another big prizepool inside Dublin's Mansion House. For those looking to recoup their tournament buy-ins at the cash tables, UKIPT has managed to partner with Dublin's Sporting Emporium Casino to offer a separate venue for ring games with varying price points.
