Christos Xanthopoulous wins Paradise Poker Tour London

Monday, 22 November 2010

Christos Xanthopoulos has won the latest leg of the Paradise Poker Tour which came to a conclusion at The Fox Poker Club in London last night.

The Greek went into the final table as chip leader but lost momentum after losing a big pot with AK against Londoner Jim Reid's Q9. He recovered his composure, ground his way back into the contention and eventually set up a heads up clash with Portugal's Luis Fernandes.

The chips were in the middle soon after with both players hitting two-pair on an 8-8-4 board. Xanthopoulos had Fernandes outkicked and with no help on either the turn or river the Greek could celebrate a notable victory and a £30,105 pay day, the biggest in the history of the Paradise Poker Tour.

The final table positions and payouts were as follows:

1st - Christos Xanthopoulos £30,105
2nd – Fernandes £17,500
3rd - Peter Csecsetka £12,550
4th – Jim Reid £10,750
5th - Pawel Chmiel £9,185
6th – Angelo Lima £7,600
7th – Eli Heath £6,280
8th - Andreas Chalkiadakis £5,120
9th - Stanislaw Miadelzel £4,070
10th - Plaen Todorov £3,145
