Christos Xanthopoulos has won the latest leg of the Paradise Poker Tour which came to a conclusion at The Fox Poker Club in London last night.
The Greek went into the final table as chip leader but lost momentum after losing a big pot with AK against Londoner Jim Reid's Q9. He recovered his composure, ground his way back into the contention and eventually set up a heads up clash with Portugal's Luis Fernandes. The chips were in the middle soon after with both players hitting two-pair on an 8-8-4 board. Xanthopoulos had Fernandes outkicked and with no help on either the turn or river the Greek could celebrate a notable victory and a £30,105 pay day, the biggest in the history of the Paradise Poker Tour. The final table positions and payouts were as follows:1st - Christos Xanthopoulos £30,1052nd – Fernandes £17,5003rd - Peter Csecsetka £12,5504th – Jim Reid £10,7505th - Pawel Chmiel £9,1856th – Angelo Lima £7,6007th – Eli Heath £6,2808th - Andreas Chalkiadakis £5,1209th - Stanislaw Miadelzel £4,07010th - Plaen Todorov £3,145 Vienna is the venue for the next leg of the Paradise Poker Tour from 12th to 16th January 2011.
