Chris Moneymaker Leads World Poker Open Final Table

Chris Moneymaker Leads World Poker Open Final Table

Wednesday, 12 August 2009

Chris Moneymaker recently complained that he was running badly. Well, those fears have surely been assuaged after he reached the final table of the World Poker Open in Robinsonville, Mississippi today with over 1m chips.

For context, the average stack among the nine players is 280,000. Moneymaker has quite a bit.

PokerStars are the real winners here as both Moneymaker and Vanessa Rousso, also at the WPO final table, are both wearing their sponsored gear as part of Team PokerStars. In addition, Chad Brown – Vanessa’s boyfriend, no less – finds himself in second place with over 430,000.

PokerStars pros have a good history at the WPO - Barry Greenstein and Humberto Brenes have both won this event and Daniel Negreanu has made the final table twice.

If you want to become a PokerStars pro, sign up here. You can build up your bankroll, qualify to the 2010 WSOP and win the Main Event. Or at least make the final table – simple!
