Chris Mason is the APAT World Amateur Poker Champion

157 players bought in for the APAT World Amateur Poker Championship at Dusk Till Dawn over the weekend and in the end it was Chris Mason who claimed the first prize of £7,000, a seat in the GUKPT Grand Final and the all-important title of World Amateur Champion.

Mason beat a final table that included Ian Overson, Chris Filus, James Bagley, John Miller, Ant Williams, Oystein Eggen and Dave Potter before defeating Jamie Reeve heads-up. Mason, holding A7, sealed the win calling Reeve’s all in push with A2. The board brought 8-8-7-10-4 giving Mason the crown. Reeve picked up £5,000 for his runner up finish.


Paul Pitchford won the sold out Omaha event collecting a first prize of £1,300 and then followed it up with an impressive 10th place finish in the Main Event.


48 players gathered for the £50 H.O.R.S.E Championship. Andrew Tracey won the £1,000 first prize and gold medal beating Jon Woodfield heads up for the title.
