Chris Johsnon Heads GPS Final

Saturday, 13 December 2014

The anticipated overlay failed to materialise at the Genting Poker Series Grand Final after a bumper turnout on the second live opening flight.

The 168 Friday starters took the overall numbers up to 255 which means a prize pool of £204,000. Chris Johnson was the pick of the Friday bunch, turning his starting stack of 30,000 chips into an impressive 236,400.

Ben Vinson (209,700) and Jack Shutt (203,700) were snapping at Johnson's heels for much of the day, as were Tom Langley (187,000), Will Kassouff (169,800), Chi Zhang (167,500) and Ben Jckson (161,400) who all made solid starts.

59 of the day 1c starters survived the ten levels of action and will be back for Saturday's day 2 action.

Tom Deane, who dominated the action on the first opening flights retains the overall lead on 316,000.
