The opening event of the new World Poker Tour season is well under way with a familiar face at the top of the chip counts. Chino Rheem leads the way going into Day 2 at WPT Cyprus with a stack of 291,000.

130 of the 329 starters will be joining the November Niner including notables Michael and Robert Mizrachi, Dominick Nitsche, Marvin Rettenmaier and 2012 WSOP Main Event final table bubble girl Gaelle Baumann. Not all the big name starters survived though with Daniel 'Jungleman12' Cates, Chris Moorman and the third branch of the Mizrachi triumvirate, Eric, all hitting the rail.


36 players will each claim a share of the $1,212,694 prize pool with the winner set to walk away with $287,784.
