ChicagoJoey breaks Innerpsy’s hands in a day record

Friday, 4 December 2009

Earlier this week we brought you news that Russian pro ‘Innerpsy’ had set the world record for the most hands played in a single day. Well that record lasted less than a week as American ChicagoJoey has set a new mark.

The Two Plus Two regular not only had to play more than 40,008 hands in less than 24-hours at $0.10/$0.25 NL HE or PLO, he also had to turn a profit on the session or he would lose all $32,950 of side action that he’d managed to book.

It wasn’t looking good in the early stages of the challenge as Joey sank into the red but he turned it round after 5,000 hands and never looked back, eventually showing a profit of $850 after breaking the 50,000-hand barrier. He finally called it a day after 21-hours and a mammoth 50,470 hands.
