A chef from England’s Blackpool has taken home history’s biggest ever online poker prize. 28-year old Lee Biddulph won $1 million in ParadisePoker.com’s Million Dollar Free Roll Tournament, beating 3,900 competitors to the big money, after several months of play.
It took seven hours of nail biting competition for Biddulph to beat software engineer Mike Darweesh from Arizona in the final game, which took place in Costa Rica.
'Lee played brilliantly, he started the final table with less chips, $1.58 million to Mike's $2.72 million and came out a winner,” says ParadisePoker.com’s marketing manager, Bruce Stubbs. He says the second ParadisePoker.com $1 Million Freeroll Tournament is already in progress.
