Cheesemonster Wins FTOPS VIII Main Event

They don’t call these things the main event for nothing, you know.
A $500 buy-in didn’t stop 4,750 entrants build a prize pool of
$2,375,000 – far beyond the $2 million guarantee put up by Full
Tilt.

A $500 buy-in didn’t stop 4,750 entrants build a prize pool of
$2,375,000 – far beyond the $2 million guarantee put up by Full
Tilt.
The Full Tilt pros came in their masses, with several of them
making it to the payouts. Those who managed to cash included Huck
Seed (282nd), Stuart Paterson (354th), Andy Bloch (429th), Maciek
“Michael” Gracz (455th), Marco Liesy (457th), Roland de Wolfe
(510th), and Robert Mizrachi (578th). Martin Klaeser did the best
of all the FTP pros, eventually finishing in 62nd. Phil Ivey is
famous enough already, so going out as the bubble boy won’t have
done too much to raise his profile.
When the final two, cheesemonster and MarMoss, got heads-up,
each had earned at least $249,000, with a staggering $161,000 still
to play for owing to Full Tilt not sanctioning chops. In the end,
cheesemonster took home first place and a little over $410,000 – a
lot of cheese, that.
Final table standings:
cheesemonster — $410,780
MarMoss — $249,375
SLmelonman — $161,500
frostey — $125,875
