Chaz Chattha wins GUKPT Luton main event

Monday, 22 August 2011

It didn’t take Karl Marenholz long after Chaz Chattha had defeated Toby Lewis heads-up for the GUKPT Luton title to point out that former WSOP and WSOPE finalist James Akenhead is now the only member of the 'hit squad' not to have won a GUKPT event.

Chattha has now joined his brother, Sunny, in the GUKPT winners’ circle after taking down £59,360 for besting a tough-as-nails final table in Luton and beating Toby Lewis heads-up after Andrew Feldman (not he of ESPN poker fame) was eliminated in third place.

This was Chattha’s fourth GUKPT main event final table including the one his brother won back in 2009. Now he, his brother, Marenholz and Praz Bansi (twice) have brought five GUKPT titles to the 'hit squad'.

The full final table payouts were as follows:

1. Chaz Chattha £59,360

2. Toby Lewis £40,280

3. Andrew Feldman £25,970

4. Albert Keegan £15,370

5. Antonio German £11,660

6. Daniel Furnival £9,540

7. Michael Huber £7,420

8. Jonathan Weekes £5,830
