Chattha Amongst WSOP Main Event Leaders

Thursday, 9 July 2015

The first of two day 2 flights in the $10,000 WSOP Main Event took place overnight with Britain's Charles Chattha among the front-runners at the close of play.

The London-based pro finished the day with a stack of 423,300 which was good enough for fourth place overall. Amar Anand has the lead on 603,500 followed by Calvin Lee (500,700) and Luther Tran (479,700).

The day started with 1,624 hopefuls still dreaming of glory. By bagging up time approximately 650 still had chips. Among that number were plenty of notable names including Brian Hastings, Scott Montgomery, Chris Moorman, Mike Matusow and Jonathan Duhamel.

Chris Moneymaker's hopes of a second world title stalled on day 2AB. Joining the former world champ on the rail were the likes of Jason Mercier, Isaac Haxton, Andrew Black, Phil Galfond and recent Aria High Roller winner Brian Rast.

The 2,747 Day 1C survivors take centre stage from noon today (8pm UK time).
