ITWomen, an organisation dedicated to the advancement and development of women in technology based in South Florida, has announced its third annual scholarship drive themed CIO Celebrity Poker Tournament & Casino Night due to take place on November 16 at the Sheraton in Fort Lauderdale.
The goal of the fundraising drive is to raise more than $30,000 in scholarship money that will be awarded to seven high school graduating women pursuing careers in technology. This year's event will celebrate the success of previous years' fund-raisers which to date have raised more than $34,000 in scholarship moneys.
CIOs from South Florida's top companies including Citrix, Bacardi, Royal Caribbean, Burger King, Carnival Cruise Lines, Ultimate Software and Cordis have already confirmed that they will try their luck at this year’s event.
'This event promises to be great for networking as attendees will have an opportunity to really get to know South Florida's IT community, which is made up of committed professionals that truly care about fostering growth in its industry,” said Victoria Usherenko, president of ITWomen. “We are already receiving RSVPs from companies that want to make an evening of it with their staff!”
