We like to see big names do well in the big tournaments and at 24 letters, they don't come much bigger than Charalampos Kapernopoylos. The Greek doctor closed day 3 at EPT Loutraki with a stack of 892,500 chips giving him a healthy lead over closest rival David Elyashar who has 503,500.

Next is EPT San Remo winner Rupert Elder on 497,500, closely followed by long time chip leader Mario Puccini who returns on 495,500. Eastbourne's Zimnan Ziyard is also riding high on 437,500 with Irishman Jude Ainsworth nestled in the middle of the pack on 233,000.

The 38 surviving players are all guaranteed a payout of at least €7,000 with the eight players who make the final table pocketing a minimum of €27,000.
