Channing challenges at EPT Monte Carlo

Monday, 26 April 2010

After Liv Boeree made her presence felt to the tune of €1.25m at the EPT San Remo last week, fellow Brit Neil Channing is climbing high in the chip counts in Monte Carlo after Day 1a of PokerStars’ EPT €10,000 Grand Final.

In total, 351 players signed up for the first day of the EPT finale, leaving less than half the field remaining intact by the day’s end. Joining Channing in the list of those making it to Day 2 are former WSOP champions Chris Moneymaker and Greg Raymer as well as online tournament legend Dave Sands.

Phil Ivey, Phil Laak, Barry Greenstein and Patrik Antonius were not so fortunate; becoming one of the 170ish players that hit the rail on Day 1a. Owen Crowe leads the field on 180,000 – Irishman Liam Flood, supposedly retired Mike “Timex” McDonald and John Kabbaj are all still in the hunt.
