Champion leads at UKIPT Dublin

Friday, 18 May 2012

The Champion was in charge at the end of the opening flight at PokerStars UKIPT Dublin yesterday. In this case, it wasn't a former UKIPT winner, but William Champion who was nursing the chip lead.

The Northern Irishman closed the day with a stack of 129,700, putting him just ahead of Irishmen Paul McCaffrey on 112,000 and Marc McDonnell on 106,600. 91 of the 199 Day 1A starters will be back for Day 2 tomorrow with the average stack at 32,802.

Barny and Ross Boatman, Nicky Power, Rob Yong and Team PokerStars Pro Jude Ainsworth were among the high profile casualties from the opening day. Former UKIPT Cork winner Sam Razavi will be back on Saturday though, albeit with a below average stack of 20,800.
