Ceri Rees wins Dusk Till Dawn deepstack

Monday, 5 March 2012

Dusk Till Dawn are like the PokerStars of UK poker – they keep boosting guarantees and going a step further and its always successful. The major beneficiary this weekend was Ceri Rees who pocketed £86,206 after taking the Nottingham club's inaugural £250,000 DTD Deepstack.

A total of 143 entrants and 25 re-entries on Day 1a as well as 397 plus 78 re-entries on Day 1b meant a total field of 643 and a gargantuan £321,500 prize pool!

Rees beat Tommy Bingham heads up with the crucial hand seeing 18m of the 19m chips in play hit the middle on a J-J-K-5-3 board with Bingham's K-4 crushed by Rees's K-J. The end came soon after with Rees coming from behind with A9 to beat beat Bingham's AJ. No doubt with Simon Trumper's approval, there was no deal meaning Bingham walked away with a none too shabby £50,397 for his efforts.

The final table positions and payouts were as follows:
1. Ceri Rees £86,206
2. Tommy Bingham £50,397
3. Mark Lane £30,238
4. Jareth East £21,220
5. Callum McCaig £15,915
6. Kevin Parkes £11,936
7. Richard Wilcox £9,283
8. Tamer Kamal £6,631
