Super Middleweight World Champion Carl Froch might be thinking about hanging up his boxing gloves, but it seems as though he's got a new passion: poker.
The Nottingham native is gradually getting more involved in the poker community and earlier this week he notched up his first win inside the famous Dusk Till Dawn (DTD) cardroom.Having recently taken to the felt at DTD's UKIPT event, Froch was back in action on Monday and looking to avenge his recent defeat.Taking part in a "Beat the Boss" style tournament with a £10,000 prizepool, Froch managed to bob and weave his way through the field and even beat DTD owner Rob Yong on his way to claiming the £3,000 top prize.Commenting on his win, explained that he's starting to take poker more seriously and to get even as far as the final table was an achievement for him."It was a pretty tense occasion, especially when you make it through right to the end and there are just two of you left. I'm really into poker and, believe me, there were some excellent players involved. I was pleased to come out on top in the end," the victorious Froch told the Nottingham Post.
