There was a full house in the Shadow Lounge at The Casino at the Empire for the Jamie Gold Charity tournament which kicked off the Poker in the Park extravaganza at the end of last week.

The field included Gold and fellow former WSOP Main Event Champion Peter Eastgate, a host of top UK pros including Ian Frazer, John Tabatabai, Sam Trickett and Dragons Den wannabe JJ Hazan, and a smattering of celebs turned poker players in the form of Teddy Sheringham and Michael Greco.

All fifty £250 buy-ins went to the Jamie Gold Foundation, an organisation that helps many worthy causes. Players were competing for an EPT seat worth £5,200, a seat in the Unibet Open worth £3,000, a Gresham Blake tailor made suit, a custom Marlow Casino chipset, a high-end Gevril wristwatch, Tag Heuer sunglasses, and a week-long poker training session with David “The Maven” Chicotsky.

In the end it was Swedish pro Mikael Gabrielsson who took claimed the title.
