Cake Poker loses some skins despite growth

PlayersOnly and Sportsbook.com are leaving Cake to merge with… well, Merge.

Cake Poker are denying that their sites are no longer experiencing growth after PlayersOnly and Sportsbook.com announced they were leaving the network – that features such sites as Doyle’s Room – to join the Merge network.
PokerNewsDaily heard from CakePoker officials, who said: “We’re expecting good growth in 2010 as a result of some significant new partners and the expansion of existing brands on the network.”

Phil Laak is one of them – the TV pro has recently launched Unabomber Poker on the Cake Poker network, joining High Stakes Poker tablemate Doyle Brunson on the network. In recent months eight new sites have sprung up on the Cake Poker network.

“We’re working on a new client that we are really excited about. It has new features, better graphics, and higher reliability. We’ve put a lot of thought and a lot of work into this and hope to have a beta into some players’ hands no later than April,” Cake stated.
