Cajelais bubbles WPT Cyprus final table

Thursday, 9 August 2012

The final table has been set at the first World Poker Tour event of the new season with Ran Azor in prime position for the $287k first prize at the WPT Merit Classic Cyprus.

Azor heads a congested head of the leader boar with a stack of 2,405,000 followed by Arthur Vosknanyan on 2,003,000. The most familiar name on the final table is that of Marvin Rettenmaier. The German returns just 1,000 chips behind Voskanyan with Kiryl Radzavonau, 1,865,000, Victor Parashiv 1,115,00 and Joseph El Khoury rounding out the final table with the short but workable stack of 435,000.

The day started with Erik Cajelais holding the chip lead and the American pro remained in contention for most of the day before losing a flip with A6 against Rettenmaier's pocket deuces to be the final table bubble boy.

Other notables who hit the rail on the penultimate day were Robert Mizrachi who busted in 15th and Sam El Sayed who hit the rail in 11th.

The final table chip counts are as follows:

1 Ran Azor 2,405,000
2 Arthur Voskanyan 2,003,000
3 Marvin Rettenmaier 2,002,000
4 Kiryl Radzavonau 1,865,000
5 Victor Parashiv 1,115,000
6 Joseph El Khoury 435,000

And here's what they'll be playing for

1 $287,784
2 $184,020
3 $118,360
4 $87,610
5 $65,770
6 $52,590
