The daughter of poker legend Doyle Brunson has been crowned champion at the fifth annual ladies night event at Los Angeles’ Bicycle Casino.
Pamela Brunson saw off competition from the likes of Evelyn Ng and Kathy Liebert to claim the first prize of more than $34,000 and a seat in the prestigious WPT (World Poker Tour) Ladies Night Out on August 31.
She will sit at the table alongside some of the world’s top female professional players including Linda Johnson, Mimi Tran, Kristy Gazes, Melissa Hayden and returning champion JJ Liu with the winner receiving a $25,000 seat into the WPT World Championship next year.
Pamela is the daughter of Doyle ‘Godfather of Poker’ Brunson but, while having a genius poker player for a father helps, this tournament triumph was all down to her.
“I am so excited,” said Brunson.
“Apart from a seat into the WPT Ladies Night Out, an invitational event where I will be playing against five women poker players, I also won a beautiful ring, a pink poker chip set, jacket and, of course, the trophy that crowns me LPA Tour No-Limit Hold ’Em Tournament winner. At least, that’s what the trophy states.”
When not collecting prizes, Pamela serves an ambassador for DoylesRoom.com and can be found regularly honing her skills on the site. The site educates players about poker with videos from the likes of Mike Caro in addition to featuring games for all skill levels.
Throughout the summer, DoylesRoom.com has a number of exclusive weekly Summer Series Freerolls culminating in a $25,000 Grand Finale where the winner will get once-in-a-lifetime chance to play heads-up poker against the legendary Doyle Brunson himself.
