Brilliant Brady bags Fox Main Event

The November leg of the £400 Fox Poker Club Main Event£400 Fox Poker Club Main Event took place this weekend and as befits the date, there were plenty of fireworks on show.

In the end it was James Brady who took the honours, outlasting a field of 64-runner to walk away with a first prize of £8,400.

Brady sealed his biggest live score to date after beating Anthony Costa heads up. Costa had run hot throughout the final day, including cracking Briony Stone’s aces with jacks to send her home just outside the money. Despite being the chip leader for most of the tournament, Costa couldn’t finish the deal and once again a hand involving jacks played was crucial. This time Costa was on the receiving end when his A5 couldn’t outrun Brady’s hooks and momentum started to shift.

Brady’s A10 then held against KQ to leave Costa crippled and it was all over the very next hand.

The final table positions and payouts were as follows:

James Brady £8,400
Anthony Costa £6,470
Martin Davis £3,580
James Koumis £2,560
D Sauva £1,790
Mark Greening £1,280
Charlene Coleman £1,020
Rupom Pal £500
