Brian Lemke wins WSOP Event #15 $5,000 No Limit Hold Em Bracelet

They say that you are getting old when policemen start looking young. The same thought would have crossed the minds of anyone watching the final table of Event 15 at this year’s WSOP where the average age of the final table was just 25. Seniority pulled rank in the end though as the veteran at the table, 32-year-old Brian Lemke took down the bracelet.

Lemke outlasted a field of 655 players to claim the first prize of $692,658, coming back from a 3 to 1 chip deficit at the start of heads up play with Germany’s Fabian Quoss. Lemke once again came from behind to seal the victory. His A8 was dominated by Quoss’s AQ but a flop of 9-10-J gave him hope. The Queen on the turn and a harmless Jack on the river gave him a winning straight and the bracelet.

Lemke dedicated his victory to his late cousin, the producer of Poker Road radio, Justin Shronk who tragically passed away earlier this year at the age of just 27. “He was with me the whole time – the entire time. I know he brought that queen for me. I miss him and that bracelet is dedicated to him, my family, my grandma, and his mom.”

The final table positions and payouts were:

1. Brian Lemke - $692,658
2. Fabian Quoss - $427,912
3. Thomas Keller - $280,852
4. Mike Sowers - $194,931
5. Lika Gerasimova - $142,688
6. Danny Illingston - $109,872
7. Isaac Baron - $88,784
8. Billy Kopp - $75,115
9. Christian Iacobellis - $66,403
